Maybe we’re a little behind the times here at Total Fitness Music…or maybe it’s just because we’re so focused on slamming out genius new mixes and pumping ourselves to the max in the gym that we don’t pay enough attention to Asda ads. Either way, this new invention has only just come to our attention:
No, your eyes do not deceive you: this is indeed the very first ‘moob tube’. Apparently when Asda released the ‘Body Sculpt Vest’ a year ago, it sold out in record time. It was so popular hundreds of men signed up for a waiting list to get first dibs on the new stock, and it was even featured on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, as he somehow managed to persuade Jeremy Clarkson to squeeze himself into one (a sight I would pay to see).
Now, as far as I can tell this is the male equivalent of a push-up bra; it’s been equally slated and hailed by the media as the ‘seven quid sixpack’ (nobody said George was high class). Certainly thousands of men across Britain have chipped in and splashed out, whether to the delight or eyebrow-raising of their wives we don’t know. What I want to know is, in the picture above, how has that lovely chap’s flattering t-shirt managed to also fill out his boxers that extra inch more?
There’s even a video of Asda’s Head of Communications, Dom Burch, trying the vest on himself. Not quite sure what I think of this. He’s certainly a fairly normal looking bloke, but there’s something a little worrying about the thought of all these middle-aged professional men sitting in offices across the city, sipping their coffee and wearing their tummy tuckers.
What do you think girls? Is this something you’d fancy buying your gym-shy guy for Christmas? Or are moob tubes only as sexy as the pecs inside them? What about guys – would you buy yourself a Body Sculpt Vest? Let us know in the comments below!

i’ve actually seen these in action…my uncle got one for christmas last year. it was pretty good beneath a shirt but not a nice sight without one!
really?! did he look pleased?
not something i’d consider!
